What do we do?
UNICEF is working with its partners in the following lines of action to reimagine education and facilitate access to devices:
- Identify the needs and technical specifications of devices required to enhance digital learning in any context, as well as the measures and supports needed to ensure their operation, with emphasis on students with disabilities,
- Radically reduce the costs of equipment and software licenses through negotiations at the global level and coordination of deployment at the local level; and
- Build the capacity of teachers, learning facilitators and students to use the devices for learning.
Ensuring internet connectivity for the most marginalized children and adolescents only makes sense if they have access to devices such as computers, tablets and smartphones that enable them to learn anywhere, anytime.
