What is resilience?

Resilience can be defined as the ability to navigate changing circumstances successfully. It is a constructive skill that goes beyond simply surviving, accepting or resigning oneself to what may be a difficult situation. The term resilience is highly context-dependent and is conceived as a behavioural process to address adversity in an active and conscious way, with awareness to mental health and wellbeing.

As expressed by our podcast guests, Carla Pérez y Jorge Iglesias, resilience is not just about “moving forward”, and it is necessary to learn from adverse circumstances in order to act in the best interest of oneself and its surroundings.
