Analysis of gaps in access to basic services for children affected by migration in Kyrgyzstan

Highlights
This report presents the results of the analysis of gaps in access to basic services for children affected by migration in Kyrgyzstan. The study was commissioned by UNICEF and conducted by the Central Asian Consulting Company (CAIConsulting) within the framework of the programme “Protecting Children Affected by Migration in Southeast, South and Central Asia”, managed by UNICEF and co-funded by the European Union and UNICEF.
The main purpose of this study is to analyse gaps in access to basic services for children and their families affected by migration in Kyrgyzstan. The study is based on the qualitative data collected through a desk review as well as through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs). The study focuses on children left without parental care due to external labour migration of their parents and on children living with their parents who are internal migrants.
