Highlights

The research aimed to examine societal attitudes toward children with disabilities and their families, as well as the factors influencing these attitudes, including social norms and expectations. The project sought to gather reliable statistical data and in-depth qualitative insights, which will serve as the foundation for developing a theory of change and communication strategies to enhance the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

This report, focused on social attitudes towards children with disabilities and their families, was prepared by a team of experts from PIL Research Company with support from the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic. The project was carried out in collaboration with the social movement of people with disabilities and was commissioned by the UN Children’s Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic.
