Highlights
2024 marked 35 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, celebrated alongside World Children’s Day, offering a moment to reflect on Kenya’s progress for children over the decades.
UNICEF Kenya was proudly recognized by Brand Africa as the Most Admired UN Entity Doing Good for Society, Environment, and People in Kenya. Through a new financing agreement with the Government of Kenya, UNICEF supported large-scale service delivery, focusing on flood response, resilience building, and strengthening systems to ensure increased social sector allocations, expenditures, and results for children within Kenya’s devolved governance structure. These significant efforts underscore our commitment to advancing children’s well-being and rights.
In 2024, UNICEF’s impactful, multisectoral programmes reached over 16 million children, women, and adults, transforming lives through health, education, nutrition, water, sanitation, and protection initiatives.
