Highlights
The statistical yearbook "Children of Kazakhstan" (hereinafter – Yearbook), was developed and released in 2017 for the first time, thanks to the joint initiative of the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – CS MNE RK) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Together with UNICEF’s international and national experts, government representatives and members of non-governmental organizations, who compose the Working Group on the Systematization of Indicators, characterizing the situation of children in the country, prepared the structure and content of this yearbook. UNICEF provided technical and methodological assistance in the development and production of the first statistical Yearbook, concerning the situation of children in Kazakhstan.
The purpose of this Yearbook is to satisfy wide, public demand for systematized data and information, so as to ensure regular monitoring of the situation of children in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The data presented in this Yearbook was collected from various official sources (statistical data and administrative reporting) and is divided into 8 main sections. The 9th section includes international data comparisons on key indicators.
