Thousands of Children in Jordan Celebrate World Children’s Day

Amman, 20 November 2025 – Marking the World Children’s Day, UNICEF organized a series of activities with thousands of children across Jordan to celebrate the day.

The Children’s Museum in Amman came alive yesterday with color, laughter, and boundless imagination as UNICEF hosted a vibrant celebration for World Children’s Day, placing children at the heart of creativity, learning, and joy.

Under the theme “Today and Everyday” the one-day event welcomed over 250 children aged 6–12 from community-based organizations across Jordan for a truly immersive experience. Interactive activities, creative workshops, street performances, and interactive installations were designed in partnership with UNICEF’s civil society partners. The celebration transformed the museum into a world designed by children and for children.

From the moment they arrived, children were grouped into teams, handed special event passports, and guided through a playful journey of activity zones. Every completed station brought a stamp, and a sense of accomplishment. The event also featured two lively street performances, which filled the museum with laughter, music, and interactive fun.

“I made my own mask and I’m taking it home! I’ve never done this before,” said 10-year-old Laila, one of the participants. Another child, Hamza, 12 shared: “I liked collecting stamps in my passport. It felt like an adventure!”

The programme featured a 15-minute interactive session with UNICEF Representative to Jordan, Marc Rubin, during which children asked questions, shared their ideas, and had an opportunity for their voices to be heard.

“World Children’s Day is a powerful reminder that when we listen to children, we see solutions, creativity, and hope. Today’s celebration shows the importance of giving children space to express themselves and shape the world they want to grow up in,” said Rubin.

In parallel to the Amman event, UNICEF also organized a series of events to mark World Children’s Day in Za’atari, Azraq, and the Garden Camp, where more than 7,000 children took part in a range of fun and interactive activities designed to promote participation, inclusion, and learning through art.

Throughout Jordan, billboards in Amman displayed messages commemorating World Children’s Day, and the historic site of Petra was illuminated in UNICEF blue. These initiatives, supported by the Greater Amman Municipality and the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, conveyed a strong message of solidarity with children and the promotion of their rights.
