Early Grade Learning baseline- endline student assessment: Briefing note

Highlights

This study presents the impact of the Early Grade Learning Programme (Phase 3) in the Papua Provinces. The programme was funded by the Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), with an overall goal to improve learning outcomes of disadvantaged and marginalized children living in rural and remote areas in two Papua provinces.

The baseline and endline study assessed the impact of the Early Grade Learning programme on the literacy and numeracy skills of students from grades 1 to 3, from 2021 to 2023. These quantitative findings were complemented with observational analyses and interviews to capture the programme's impact more holistically.
