The UNICEF Evaluation Office Impact Feasibility Assessment (IFA) is a rigorous four-stage process aimed at identifying opportunities for impact evidence generation. The first IFA was launched in 2022, and since then, it has been implemented four times.

Starting from a review of available evidence on a selected topic, the process moves to map UNICEF activities in the space, identifying the ones mature enough to implement an impact evaluation and suggesting potential evaluation designs. The final step of the IFA process produces recommendations for the integration of outcome/impact-level measurements into planned evaluation designs.

IFAs have been implemented on the topics of Child Marriage, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Climate Resilient WASH, and Children on the Move.
