UNICEF Egypt is supporting The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to implement a new initiative to screen all newborn infants for jaundice using a blood test.
In coordination with academia and MoHP, UNICEF designed the jaundice follow up cards and newborn registries to ensure comprehensive data collection of all screened infants.
UNICEF Egypt team captured the visit of Mamdouh, a father from Assuit, who brought his little baby girl named Candy for the routine follow up at Ferial Primary Healthcare Unit (PHU); one of the PHUs supported by UNICEF at Assuit governorate.
