About
The UNICEF nexus approach aims to address immediate needs and reduce vulnerabilities while at the same time building durable systems and resilient communities, and contributing to lasting peace. It reflects convergence of different projects and the collaborative strength of joint planning and response - involving the DRC Government, UN agencies, INGOs, local organizations, local communities, and donors - and aligns with collective efforts and national priorities and plans. It also encourages the strong involvement of and ownership by government and local communities, reflects local contexts, and considers especially the role of women and girls. When new crises occur, UNICEF DRC scales up its work in key areas and creates programmatic linkages between humanitarian and development interventions as well as peacebuilding activities.
