Alejandra Trossero has more than 20 years of professional experience in the areas of public health, HIV, adolescent development, and children's rights. She joined UNICEF in 2016 as Regional Adolescent and HIV Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean, providing technical leadership to 24 country offices. She worked previously at the UNDP Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, as a Specialist in HIV, Health and Development Policies.
She has an extensive experience in the design, execution and evaluation of development programs at the global, regional and national levels. She has held various positions such as Director of Programs for the Regional Office for East and Southeast Asia and Oceania of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She served as Senior Advisor for HIV Programs in several international organizations where her work focused on integrating HIV services into existing primary health care systems in Sub-Saharan African and Asian countries.
