This component addresses the quality of inclusive education in early childhood and for children with disabilities in mainstream and vocational schools, as well as disaster risk reduction so that young children, children with disabilities, adolescents in vocational schools, or those living in disaster-vulnerable areas, can access inclusive, relevant and quality education, even in emergency situations.
By strengthening the knowledge and skills of teachers, children, adolescents, and families, better educational care is promoted, as well as behavioral changes that benefit children and adolescents and improve conditions for social inclusion and greater resilience to disasters and climate change.
The program logic states that when educators provide inclusive quality services, vulnerable children and adolescents become free of stigma and benefit from equal educational opportunities; families and caregivers adopt positive parenting styles and co-responsibility, and participate in the education of children and adolescents.
Meanwhile, children and adolescents, families and communities are resilient to disaster risks and climate change, and children and adolescents are in better conditions to learn and develop decent, equitable, and risk-free lives.
