UNICEF Croatia and the Croatian Institute for Social Work, as a programme partner, are organizing a series of intercultural webinars for professionals from the asylum, child protection, social welfare, education, and health sectors. The aim is to strengthen the capacities of professionals working with refugees and migrants, and to develop their cultural sensitivity, so they can better understand the values, customs, and beliefs of other countries and improve the delivery of services tailored to the needs of people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
The first webinar in the series, dedicated to Afghanistan, will be held on Tuesday, 17 June 2025. It will be led by child protection advisors from the UNICEF Office in Afghanistan and will take place in English, with translation into Croatian provided. Participation is free and open to all interested professionals.
The programme is implemented within the comprehensive “Supporting protection and integration of children and families in migration in Croatia”. This is a joint programme of the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and UNICEF Croatia, funded by the Government of the Swiss Confederation.
