To inspire and attract young talent in Korea, we participated at the International Career Fair 2024, from 15-17 July, in South Korea. On a joint mission, human resources professionals from 7 international organizations, traveled in 3 cities across the Korean peninsula, to attend the career event that is organized every year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

Representatives from the United Nations secretariat, the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UNICEF, and the World Health Organization (WHO), met with more than 1000 talented young Koreans interested in pursuing a career in the field of humanitarian and international development.

In this three-day event across three cities, Seoul, Incheon and Busan, we had the unique opportunity to introduce talented Koreans to the work of the United Nations and global organizations, as well as help them familiarize with our recruitment systems and application processes.

The presentations included information about each of our organizations mission and mandate, our workplace culture and values, as well as experiences and stories of the incredible journeys of our staff members, highlighting the diverse career paths available within our agencies.

In addition, young Koreans had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews. During these sessions, our human resources professionals demonstrated how interview competency-based interviews are structured and gave customized, valuable insights of the assessment process, as well as tips on designing the two key application documents: resume and cover letter.

We wholeheartedly thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for organizing this remarkable event and providing a platform for international organizations to engage with young Koreans. We connected with exceptionally talented individuals eager to contribute to international development and our work. Witnessing their passion and potential has reinforced our belief in the power of human capital and the significance of events like these in fostering the next generation of global leaders.
