In honor of the International Children's Day, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus is launching a parent portal. This webpage is a collection of materials by international and national experts on responsible parenthood.

It is challenging to become a responsible parent if you lack knowledge. Which experts to listen to? What books to read? What courses to take to get “basic parental education”?

UNICEF Belarus has launched a parent portal to help parents find useful information quickly. There you can find rules for successful parents, workshops and personal stories of moms, dads and child caregivers.

In addition to the parent portal, you can download a free mobile app: Bebbo. The Bebbo app is an interactive guide assisting parents from the moment a child is born to the first day of school (0-6 year olds).

The portal launch is timed to the International Children's Day, which, in turn, opens the Month of Parents. Throughout June, UNICEF around the world is focusing on the role of parents and guardians in children's well-being. It is important to remind moms and dads that in order for children to fully develop and unleash their potential, every child needs a balanced diet, attention and support.

A child's brain develops very rapidly during the first years of life; this is exactly the period when her/his capacity to learn and develop is shaped. In the early years, the baby acquires skills that will be used throughout his/her life. The way the child plays, moves, learns, and communicates provides important clues to how well the child develops physically and emotionally. It is important for parents to carefully monitor the child and interact with her/him. As children grow older, so do family relationships. Parents and guardians need new skills and strategies, such as navigating the digital world and supporting teens to use gadgets and online resources safely, without forgetting physical activities in the real world
