Highlights:

  • 22.9 million people, including 12 million children, require humanitarian assistance, mainly due to the residual impacts of a protracted conflict, extreme climate shocks and severe economic decline, characterized by high unemployment and fragile recovery.
  • More than 829,000 children were screened for wasting during the reporting period, of whom 37,154 (59 per cent girls) were admitted for outpatient treatment.
  • UNICEF continued to support the delivery of basic and essential health care services at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels in all 34 provinces through 2,406 static health facilities.
  • UNICEF continued to support 348,676 children (66 per cent girls) through 15,775 community-based education classes in 32 provinces.
  • 47,825 children and caregivers (48 per cent girls and women) accessed child protection services.
