Flash floods affected 1,168 families across 14 provinces, damaging or destroying 1,164 homes. In Parun, Nuristan, 23 people were killed and water services for around 1,000 families disrupted.
UNICEF supported essential health services through 2,393 static and 16 mobile facilities and responded to 245 disease outbreaks. Some 183,000 children under five were vaccinated against measles.
During July, 96,300 people accessed safe drinking water, 89,061 basic sanitation services and 180,814 received essential WASH supplies.
UNICEF and partners screened 1.1 million children for wasting, with 104,602 children admitted for treatment. In addition, 10.3 million children aged 6–59 months received vitamin A supplementation.
