Skills education for young people's successful futures
In Egypt, the Adolescent Kit has been utilized as part of the national program Meshwary, a life skills and job skills education programme tailored to meet the needs of Egyptian adolescents and their communities. With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, UNICEF trains facilitators to use the Adolescent Kit to guide activities that support learning, mental health, and youth engagement. These facilitators work directly with young people, including refugees and adolescents with disabilities, to help them build confidence, skills, and hope for the future.
In 2024, the program reached more than 200,000 adolescents and young people, approximately half of whom were girls and young women. Through this program, young people ages 10-24 are learning how to overcome challenges and actively contribute to their communities. The programme's design, which connects global officials in supportive oversight and training roles with local facilitators, ensures lasting impact and expanded opportunities for even more young people in the future.
