Protecting adolescent girls in reaching their full potential and well-being
Accessing and receiving life-saving and quality health care
Highlights
In 2023, UNICEF and UNFPA Venezuela signed a joint programme to ensure universal access to primary health care for adolescent girls to help them reach their full potential and protect their well-being. The interventions under the joint programme aim at reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, improving mental health, and decreasing morbidity and mortality among adolescent girls. The benefits of improved primary health care for adolescents ripple far, helping also to reduce poverty and increase stability.
UNICEF and UNFPA will work jointly to enable all adolescent girls to fulfil their right to health care in Venezuela. Your support will be key to reach the most vulnerable adolescents and their newborns, namely those living in remote and hard-to-reach areas, those with disabilities, and those living in extreme poverty. Indigenous communities will continue to be at the heart of the programming.
