How to become an intern or volunteer?
Overview
UNICEF is active in various functional areas related to its mandate, which can be categorized in three main pillars: Programme, External Relations and Operations.
Internships or volunteer opportunities are offered depending on the needs and capacity of offices to receive and supervise interns or volunteers. Internship or volunteer opportunities will be advertised on this page.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for an internship or volunteering, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PhD degree programme (for interns). Applicants enrolled in an undergraduate school must have completed at least two years of full-time studies.
- Be proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English and Russian. Fluency in Turkmen is desired.
- Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Additional consideration will be given to any past professional experience.
