In Türkiye, many adolescents have limited opportunities, making them vulnerable to poverty, exclusion, and negative gender and social norms (such as child labour, child marriage, early school leaving and gender-based violence).
These challenges are exacerbated by the fact that many adolescents lack basic, and necessary, skills.
Through its Reimagine Education initiative, UNICEF offers world-class digital solutions to promote effective learning, provide affordable content and data connectivity, and promote youth engagement.
Our non-formal and informal education programmes aim to help out-of-school refugee children access education opportunities, and improve their academic performance through developing their Turkish language skills, learning foundational skills and making up for lost years of learning. UNICEF provides technical and financial support for governmental and NGO actors producing the online content for these foundational programmes.
Our work brings together public and private partners and guarantees that the skills we foster match young people’s aspirations, and market needs – vital in ensuring increased employment and greater satisfaction among youth.
