Türkiye is home to many vulnerable children, including refugees, children with disabilities and those living in poverty.
They need a strong, inclusive, education system where even the most vulnerable and hardest to reach out-of-school children, including refugees, have the opportunity to learn.
UNICEF is working with the Turkish government to support children in many ways, including:
- helping all children acquire basic literacy and numeracy skills
- improving special education and counselling services.
UNICEF leads the coordination among the education actors, and together we are promoting a protective environment for Syrian children and their families by assigning Syrian personnel help Turkish teachers and school management communicate with Syrian parents and children.
We are prioritizing increased access to good quality education for all children and young people, including Syrian children Under Temporary Protection. Key messages about how we can help, and education opportunities and incentives are translated into multiple languages
