With support from DFID, UNICEF and partners continue providing essential services in Somalia
The most vulnerable families are in need of lifesaving health and nutrition services, clean water and hygiene supplies.
Prior to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, UNICEF was supporting the Government of Somalia to improve healthcare, water and sanitation, access to learning and protection services for children. COVID-19 has presented yet another challenge and as the number of cases in Somalia soars, so do the needs of children and their families.
UNICEF and partners are on the ground, working to improve Somali children’s lives and helping to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in their communities. With support from the UK's Department for International Development (DFID), they can continue providing lifesaving services, including clean water and hygiene supplies, health and nutrition services, to the most vulnerable families facing the threat of the virus outbreak as well as flooding.
