Novi Sad, 22 December 2025 – During December, citizens of Novi Sad have the opportunity to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Serbia through financial donations. UNICEF payment slips are delivered together with the monthly bills of JKP “Informatika”, and the funds raised will be directed towards strengthening mental health services in local communities across the country.
Almost one in six children in Serbia faces mental health challenges, yet most do not seek help due to stigma, fear or a lack of available services. This is why UNICEF in Serbia, in cooperation with institutions, professionals and partners, works to strengthen the mental health support system for children and young people.
Children and young people who face mental health difficulties need timely, accessible and quality support. This means that the people they turn to – whether doctors, teachers, psychologists or social workers – must have the knowledge, skills and support to respond with understanding and confidence.
Funds raised through the payment slips will be invested in training professionals and developing services that help children and young people receive appropriate psychosocial support when they need it most. UNICEF’s model for strengthening the mental health system has already shown positive results. Positive progress has been observed among adolescents and young people who participated in counselling sessions with trained professionals.
Behind every child or young person who receives support stands a professional who listened and knew how to help. This is why UNICEF invests in what matters most – the professionals who form the support system.
UNICEF invites the citizens of Novi Sad to continue fostering solidarity and compassion, and to contribute through donations to creating an environment in which every child and young person has someone to turn to – without fear, stigma or barriers.
