On 24 October, we mark United Nations Day 2024, celebrating the enduring vision of peace, cooperation, and shared progress that have guided the United Nations since its founding in 1945 with the UN Charter. For nearly eight decades, the UN has stood as a beacon of hope, addressing global challenges, promoting human rights, fostering sustainable development, and working tirelessly for peace across the world.
On United Nations Day, we reflect on our work and are reminded that the greatest challenges of our time—conflict, climate change, poverty, health, and inequality—are not bound by borders. The solutions, too, must be global. In a world facing unprecedented change, international solidarity and collective action are more needed than ever.
The efforts of the United Nations have always been, and will continue to be, grounded in the enduring values and principles of the UN Charter. The United Nations is not merely an institution but a shared vision of a world where people and nations come together to build a better future for all, leaving no one behind.
Today, we reaffirm our commitment to working hand in hand for a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.
We support Romania on its ongoing efforts towards an inclusive society where all those living in the country can realize their maximum potential.
Together, we can achieve the future we want—a future where unity transcends division and humanity thrives in harmony.
