About

The Association of Independent Midwives (AMI), with support from UNICEF Romania, has established the ‘Grijă de Mamă’ (Caring for Mothers) Network that brings together maternal and neonatal care specialists, ensuring they are equipped with essential resources to enhance the quality of care and services provided to pregnant women, mothers, and newborns.

Within the Network, two training sessions were delivered between September 2022 and June 2024 for gynecologists, neonatologists, family doctors, midwives, as well as maternity, family practice, and community nurses, aimed at increasing access to antenatal care, breastfeeding support, infant care, maternity care, and preventing and managing gender-based violence within the health system.
