Corporate partnerships

Together, we can make changes that have a significant long-term impact on the lives of all children.

Ukrainian children

For more than 50 years, UNICEF has recognized the critical role of the private sector in achieving sustainable change for children. We work closely with multi-national corporations, national companies and small- to medium-sized businesses to identify, design and implement partnerships that leverage the strengths of the corporate sector on behalf of the world’s children, especially the most vulnerable.

A valuable investment with no costs attached. With the support of companies, we have the power to create a better world for children.

WHY CHOOSE UNICEF AS A PARTNER?

The problems that vulnerable and marginalised children are facing are complex and they rarely have quick fixes.

UNICEF implements long-term projects, which span over a minimum of 5-7 years, in order to identify and address the causes of these problems and not just to stop their effects. We develop programmes to ensure that all children are safe, have access to social and health services, benefit from decent living conditions and enjoy access to quality inclusive education.

The partnership with UNICEF is an investment in solutions to some of the problems that affect vulnerable children, with a significant long-term impact on the lives of all children.

UNICEF MISSION

UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) is a United Nations agency working to help every child survive, thrive and fulfil their potential, to the benefit of a better world. Since 1946, we have been working in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents across 190 countries and territories and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere.  Our work matters more than ever today – with conflicts and crises threatening millions of children and young people and millions more being deprived of their rights – to help children grow into healthy and productive adults.

UNICEF in Romania

UNICEF established its Country Office in Romania in 1991 to offer assistance in the field of child protection.

In 2018, UNICEF and the Government of Romania signed a new five-year Cooperation Agreement, with three main focuses:

  1. An extended partnership for children: Romania makes a growing contribution to regional and global efforts to promote child rights and the relevant development goals for children;
  2. Social inclusion of all children and adolescents, especially vulnerable ones, supported by health, education and social protection systems and programmes;
  3. Children’s voices: national policies that concern children, adolescents and their families (especially those from Roma communities and those with disabilities) are evidence-based, equitable and properly financed while being developed, implemented, monitored and evaluated in a participatory and transparent manner.

Strong partnerships with the private sector allow UNICEF to carry out its work for vulnerable children.
