UNICEF’s impact for children in the Philippines in 2025 and beyond
UNICEF Philippines Annual Report 2025 at a glance
In 2025, UNICEF Philippines worked with partners across government, development sector, private sector, and civil society to improve children’s lives through health, nutrition, education, child protection, climate resilience, social policy, and emergency response. Key results included protecting 802,053 children through immunization, supporting nutrition services for more than 704,000 young children and 36,879 pregnant women, reaching disaster-affected families with cash assistance, and strengthening policies, financing, and systems that improve children’s well-being across the Philippines.

Health and nutrition
UNICEF Philippines helped expand access to immunization, nutrition, and primary health care services. Efforts included supporting outpatient treatment for severe malnutrition through PhilHealth-backed services, strengthening digital health tools, and advancing policies, financing, and systems that improve health outcomes for children and women. Learning and skills
UNICEF Philippines supported stronger reforms, policies and capacity-building initiatives that strengthened early childhood care and development, and improved learning quality. Children also benefitted from safer learning environments and stronger education governance, especially in BARMM. Read more
Child protection
UNICEF Philippines worked with government partners to strengthen child protection systems and improve access to services. New policies and protocols helped create more coordinated pathways for protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, both online and offline. Read more
Child-sensitive public policy
UNICEF Philippines supported government efforts to ensure that public financing, budgeting and social protection reforms better reflect the needs of children. New tools and policy measures strengthened the tracking and monitoring of investments in child-responsive programmes. Read more
Climate, environment and resilience
UNICEF Philippines generated new evidence on how climate change affects children’s lives and well-being while supporting efforts to strengthen climate-resilient water, sanitation, and social service systems. Read more
Emergency response
In support of government-led emergency responses in 2024 and 2025, UNICEF Philippines helped bridge critical service gaps in vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities. Through a cash-first approach, combined with targeted technical and material assistance, UNICEF supported the continuity of essential services for children and families affected by emergencies.
