What is U-Report?

U-Report is a messaging tool that empowers young people to speak out on issues that matter to them, such as quality education, mental health and environment.

U-Report is present 85 countries around the world, with more than 15.000.000 U-Reporters engaged through the platform in important decision-making processes, development of policies and strategies that affect youth and their future.

U-Report MK is now available for young people in the country to voice their opinion, and engage in decision-making processes that affect their lives and the lives of future generations.

How it works?

When young people sign up for the tool, they become U-Reporters and have the opportunity to respond to polls, receive useful information, report issues, and support child rights. The data and insights are shared back with communities and connected to policymakers who make decisions that affect young people.

The main principles of U-Report are anonymity and data protection. The data received is processed immediately and displayed on the U-Report dashboard in real-time. Individual messages are completely anonymous, and the dashboard only presents disaggregated data by age, gender, and region.

U-Report MK is available on Viber, and U-Reporters can choose to receive polls in Macedonian or Albanian language. Young people above 14 years old can join U-Report MK and become U-Reporters.

How can I become a U-Reporter?

It’s easy! Follow the steps below:

• 📲  Search U-Report MK directly on your Viber app or click here.
• 😎 Register by answering few short questions about yourself – your preferred language, age, gender, and the region you come from.
• 👏 That’s it! Once you sign up you become a U-Reporter and will start receiving polls on different topics that matter to young people as well as other useful information.

You can follow the results of every poll on the mk.ureport.in dashboard in real-time and see your peers' views on different topics.

How we act?

The data and opinions gathered on U-Report MK are used to inform the design, implementation, and monitoring of youth and adolescent-centered policies, strategies, interventions, services, and content.  It’s a tool that is used to engage young people in responses to crisis including the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in policy development as co-creators of policies and solutions for problems in their communities. Some of the polls to date have helped to ensure young people’s views are included in the ‘Reimagine the future’ youth consultations initiative and youth-led climate action. U-Report MK is part of a UNICEF supported youth engagement effort implemented with the financial support of partners including United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
