Among the most important developments are efforts to ensure that children with disabilities attend mainstream education together with their peers. These efforts have resulted in a more than ten-fold increase since 2009 in the number of children with disabilities attending regular schools together with their peers. Yet, challenges still remain in ensuring that all children with disabilities are enrolled in mainstream education and are provided with high-quality pedagogical services.
