UNICEF Mongolia Announces Newest National Ambassador

UNICEF Mongolia appoints Mrs. Munkhtuya Rentsenbat, CEO of Khan Bank, as its National Ambassador. As UNICEF National Ambassador, Mrs. Munkhtuya will focus on increased private sector engagement and partnership to accelerate the rights of the children in Mongolia.

UNICEF Mongolia has been working towards better partnerships with the private sector to drive children’s agenda and development goals. UNICEF has been advocating Family-Friendly Policy (FFP) and Child Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) since 2016. As a result, many companies have started implementing CRBP and reflecting it in their policy and regulations such as establishing kindergarten within the company, flexible working hours for staff with young children, paternity leave, and so on.

“Private sector is the driver of economic development which is important to the wellbeing of children. With Mrs. Munkhtuya as our Ambassador, we hope to convene and engage with more private sector partners for children’s agenda and sustainable development goals” says Mr. Evariste Kouassi-Komlan, UNICEF Mongolia Representative.

“I am truly honored to be representing an organization that works for the children. In support to UNICEF mandate, I will do my utmost to increase partnership with private sector for greater results for children,” said Mrs. Munkhtuya.

As one of the influential female leaders in the private sector, Mrs. Munkhtuya has vast experience in the banking sector of Mongolia working for Khan Bank for more than 30 years from an accountant to Chief Executive Officer. She truly resembles the value of hard work and creates an example for young girls and women. As the CEO of Khan Bank, she has started transformative changes within her company to work towards Sustainable Development Goals and led several projects that contributed to the community.
