Highlights

Madagascar, with its 29.6 million inhabitants, has about 50% of children under 18 and 20.9 million young people under 30. UNICEF is committed to improving their lives in several essential ways. By 2028, the organization aims to vaccinate 90% of children under one year old against measles, up from the current 69%. It is also working to increase access to potable water, currently at 58%, to improve the health and well-being of the population. By strengthening basic reading skills in children aged 7 to 14, UNICEF aims to raise the current rate from 23% to a higher level. The organization strives to reduce the number of women married before the age of 18, currently at 39%, and to decrease stunting in children, also at 39%. Additionally, UNICEF seeks to expand social protection programs to cover 5,000,000 children, compared to less than 500,000 currently. Together, we are creating a better future for Malagasy children!
