The Government of Korea and UNICEF are investing in children in Madagascar to achieve a more equitable, just, and sustainable world. Through our partnership in the empowerment of girls 2017-2021 project, we mobilized communities to enhance inclusion and supported girls to become agents of change and to fulfill their potential. Combined efforts on multiple sectors improved girls’ completion of the lower secondary education, enhanced knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, expanded access to quality and youth-friendly healthcare services, and strengthened protection services against violence. Now, girls, their families, and communities are aware of their rights and have modified behaviors to prevent harmful practices such as early marriage and pregnancies.
