Government of Liberia and UNICEF Align Priorities to Accelerate Results for Children
Monrovia, 24 March 2026 – The Government of Liberia and UNICEF convened a Joint End-Year Review and Planning Meeting, bringing together key ministries, county leaders, development partners, and young people to assess progress and set priorities for the coming years.
Aligned with Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development and UNICEF’s new Country Programme (2026–2030), the meeting highlighted both progress and persistent challenges across sectors including education, health, child protection, and WASH.
Participants reaffirmed two flagship priorities: Back to My Classroom, aimed at increasing access to education, and Adolescent Girls Support, focused on improving health, protection, and learning outcomes for girls.
A strong call to action emphasized the need for coordinated, data-driven approaches, increased domestic investment, and scaling solutions that deliver measurable impact for children and adolescents.
