At just 28 years old, Ayman El Kadi, a biochemist and para-athlete from Lebanon, is redefining what it means to merge science, sports, and purpose. As the founder of KADE, a skincare line designed by athletes for athletes, and Shooting Stars Academy, which empowers youth through sports and movement, Ayman’s story is one of perseverance and innovation.

Ayman’s journey began while he was browsing the internet, curious about skincare for athletes. To his surprise, he discovered a gap in the market; there were hardly any products catering to the specific needs of people who spend long hours training outdoors. Combining his academic background in biochemistry with his passion for sports, Ayman began experimenting with natural formulas to create skincare solutions that protect and enhance athletes’ skin health.

Through the Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) programme, supported by UNICEF, Ayman created a line of locally made therapeutic products for athletes. The GIL programme gave him business skills to turn his passion into a purpose-driven brand, helping him with everything from pricing to marketing. “GIL opened new doors for me,” he shares. “It taught me the basics every entrepreneur should know, especially for someone new to the business world like myself.”

Today, KADE has grown into a promising Lebanese startup offering over ten natural skincare products, available online and in select pharmacies. The brand has made its way into local gyms and athletic communities, introducing a new concept of athletic skincare that celebrates both science and movement. Ayman’s story is a testament to how determination, knowledge, and the right support can turn a small idea into a thriving business that inspires others to dream bigger.

This initiative was implemented with funding from the Government of the Netherlands and the UK National Committee through the PETEX project.
