What is participation?

Learn why this skill is important and how you can develop it!

Participation can be defined as partaking in and influencing processes, decisions and activities. Participation is enshrined in the CRC as a guiding principle. Children have the right to be heard when decisions are being made that affect them, to express themselves freely, to share and receive information, and to participate as citizens and actors of change.

As expressed by our podcast guests, Fernanda Ariza and María de los Ángeles (Marielos) Galindo, participation is the action to get out and do things with other people in different spaces with a common goal. It is the possibility to act and live together to transform and solve ideas, thoughts, dreams and decisions that are important and affect us.

Are you ready to develop this skill?
