The Care for Child Development (CCD) approach has been implemented in 11 countries in the region, primarily through training professionals who work directly with families.
We invite you to watch this series of videos with different countries’ experiences working with CCD and their lessons learned. Listen to experts sharing their first-hand testimonies on how CCD has impacted their work and relations with families and its effects on children.
Candy Azueta, a physician at the Hospital Regional de Occidente in Belmopán, talks about her experience implementing the CCD approach in her work with children and their families.
Dr. Azueta explains the recommendations she provides to parents in her office as we watch her work with the Navarro and Colindres families. She says the most inspiring aspect of working with CCD is seeing how interactions between parents and their children improve and children make remarkable progress.

Guadalupe de Romero is a maternal and child health professional at the Maternal and Child Care and Nutrition Center (CIAMIN) in San Julián, El Salvador. She tells us about her experience applying the CCD approach in her work from prenatal care to postpartum counseling, offering parents recommendations on the importance of play and communication.
