The Jordan National Micronutrient Survey (JNMNS) 2019
Determining dietary patterns and biomarkers affecting key micronutrient deficiencies
Highlights
The National Micronutrient survey (JNMNS) was conducted in 2019 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, WFP and other partners. An external agency, Groundwork, conducted the survey. The overall objective was to assess the prevalence (the extent of key micronutrient deficiencies), coverage of interventions, trends and causes of micronutrient deficiencies as well as over-consumption, by determining dietary patterns and biomarkers among children (6 -59 months), school aged children (6-12 years) and women (pregnant & non-pregnant) of child bearing age (15-49) years old in Jordan (disaggregated by age, geographical location at governorate level, income level, gender, nationality, pregnant and lactating vs non-pregnant) in order to national inform nutrition policy, program design and guidelines.
