The Government of the Republic of Korea, through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) have supported UNICEF’s programmes for children and young people in Jordan since 2012.

The Local Conference of Youth on Climate Change (LCOY), hosted in partnership with KOICA, engaged the youth participating in the event to be at the forefront of finding solutions to the climate crisis in Jordan.

KOICA’s support is enabling UNICEF to help build the climate resilience of communities living in remote and vulnerable areas of Jordan by improving their access to safe water and sanitation. Children and young people are also empowered with information and education through Climate Action Clubs in Makani centres and schools, as well as being provided with platforms for their voices to be heard and acted on.

Together, KOICA ad UNICEF are helping young people in Jordan to achieve their dreams by providing social entrepreneurship opportunities and much-needed digital skills to youth to ensure their successful transition to adulthood.

UNICEF and KOICA are working together to create brighter futures for every child in Jordan.
