Today marks my last day as UNICEF Representative to Jordan. It has been a real privilege and pleasure to serve the children and young people of this remarkable country over the past three years.

As I leave Jordan for my new assignment, I wish to express my immense gratitude and deep appreciation to all UNICEF’s friends, partners and colleagues here in Jordan.

Whether partners from the Government of Jordan, civil society organizations, or the private sector, it has been a true honor to work closely with you all, striving to achieve meaningful results for children and their families across the Kingdom. The challenges Jordan faces are real - but so are the determination, resilience, and strength of its people.

To the incredible UNICEF Jordan team, what a privilege it has been to serve alongside you. Your unwavering dedication, drive, and belief in UNICEF’s mandate made this experience truly one of a kind. As I move forward, I am confident you will continue to ensure UNICEF remains a leading voice and force for change in the lives of children and young people.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the people of Jordan for their kind and warm hospitality. Over the past 3 years, my family and I felt at home in Jordan. We are truly grateful for this, and we look forward to coming back as regular visitors.

With my most sincere wishes to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the people of Jordan for peace and prosperity.

Thank you.

Philippe Duamelle
