NASSCOM
Creating technology-based innovations to solve key social issues

Launched in October 2018, the partnership with NASSCOM Foundation aims to jointly strengthen the engagement of IT Sector companies in India to realize the rights of the most vulnerable and marginalized children.
NASSCOM Foundation and UNICEF India work together to create technology-based innovations to solve key social issues affecting areas such as skilling, malnutrition and health.
Technology for Development is integral to achieving Agenda 2030 and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals in India. While India is experiencing digital empowerment at a fast pace with great emphasis on its developmental and educational benefits for children, the lack of digital literacy and online safety measures means that children are also exposed to risks of online abuse and exploitation. Cyber offenses against children are spreading and diversifying across India as new methods are used to harass children.
UNICEF and NASSCOM Foundation have been effectively utilizing online tools such as webinars, tweet chats and others to help parents, teachers, and children know of these risks and guide them to a safer, more secure internet learning experience.
UNICEF is proud to partner with NASSCOM Foundation to develop child rights online. The ongoing focus of the partnership will be on supporting online safety and skilling adolescents by engaging key technology businesses through the Foundation’s active network of companies.
