Highlights

This report, developed by UNICEF and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), sheds light on the realities faced by children and adolescents in our region today. It brings together the most recent data on the different forms of violence affecting children and adolescents, with particular focus on armed violence, violent discipline, sexual abuse, bullying, and digital violence.

These five manifestations represent urgent warning signs that demand immediate action; however, they are not the only forms of violence impacting their lives. Children and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean face multiple risks that threaten their development, well-being, and rights.

The report also highlights a fundamental element: solutions. It presents concrete actions, designed and tested within the region itself, that are already helping to protect children and adolescents, strengthen safe environments, and transform lives.
