Alejandra Trossero, an Argentine national, is a psychologist with a Master of Science in Public Health Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
She has more than 20 years of international experience in public health, adolescent development, HIV, and child rights. Throughout her career, she has led programs and teams in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, promoting public policies and comprehensive strategies in favor of children, equality, and health.
Before her appointment in Guatemala, she served as UNICEF Representative in Cuba and previously as Regional Specialist on Adolescence and HIV for Latin America and the Caribbean, providing technical leadership to 24 country offices.
She has also worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in Asia and Africa, where she promoted the integration of health services and HIV prevention programs.
Throughout her career, Alejandra has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the rights of children and adolescents, gender equality, and strengthening health and protection systems.
