Geneva, Switzerland; February 7, 2023: Magnom Properties, the real estate developer of FORBES International Tower, is partnering with UNICEF to support young people’s empowerment in Egypt, bridging the digital divide and providing a wide range of skills development opportunities to young girls and boys.
A partnership agreement signed in Geneva by Maged Marie, CEO of Magnom Properties, and Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, launched the cooperation between the two parties, with Magnom Properties committing to investing in impactful initiatives to improve the lives of young people in Egypt.
Magnom Properties will support UNICEF in implementing Egypt’s vision to provide internet access to less connected communities across the country and facilitate their acquiring of essential skills and opportunities within the digital realm. Magnom Properties will also collaborate with UNICEF to facilitate access to information and digital training to young people, especially girls, to equip them with the necessary skills for better career opportunities and prospects of their choice.
Maged Marie, CEO, Magnom Properties, said: “As part of our CSR strategy to advance local communities and in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030, this partnership with UNICEF will accelerate our efforts to empower youth, especially young girls, through learning and skills development training. Digital skills are vital in today’s workplace and equipping young people with the tools needed to build and thrive in their careers will boost socio-economic outcomes and drive forward our country’s overall growth.” He added: “At Magnom Properties, we are especially committed to empowering young girls to bridge the gender gaps in the country’s labour force. I look forward to our collaboration with UNICEF to elevate the lives of all youth and make a meaningful impact on the next generation of our society.”
Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, said: “We are delighted to have Magnom Properties as one of our partners supporting UNICEF in providing internet accessibility, digital training and skills to girls and boys in Egypt – critical in empowering children with better opportunities and to ensure that no child is left behind.” Hopkins added: “The use of community hotspots for such connectivity and training is a cost-efficient means of increasing access to information and developing young people’s capacity to shape their future and build a more prosperous community.”
The partnership with UNICEF builds on the various efforts and initiatives of Magnom Properties to support the next generation, including Magnom’s recently Youth Empowerment Program (YEP).
