Yaoundé, January 16, 2026 – UNICEF Cameroon announces the official release of the music video of the Girls’ Movement Anthem, a vibrant symbol of confidence, boldness, and unity for girls across Cameroon. Already adopted during the National Caravan and the First National Forum on Girls’ Rights, the anthem, carried by its energetic chorus “Allez, allez, allez plus haut”, has accompanied gatherings, marches, choreographies, and moments of free expression, becoming the song of a generation of girls who refuse to let others decide for them.
Created by the musicians and singers of the “I Am Music” programme—a creative space led by and for young people—the song gives voice to the aspirations of girls from across the country. The video, produced by Kanao Entertainment & Mr.Tcheck, features girls from different regions affirming their dreams: “I want to be a doctor,” “J’aimerais être ingénieure,” powerful statements reflecting their determination to shape their own future.
For Djamilatou Yaya, Junior Member of Parliament from the Adamawa region: “This song is more than an anthem: it’s our call for love and change. It gives us wings.” Aïcha, met during the Caravan, shares: “When I listen to this song, I hear messages that give us strength. It reminds us that we can dream higher and believe in ourselves.”
For UNICEF Cameroon, this video strengthens a movement already carried by thousands of children and grounded in the Girls’ Manifesto, available on change.org https://c.org/DTf55Xts25 and on UNICEF Cameroon’s website. It reinforces the core message of the Girls’ Movement: girls know their priorities, their dreams, their challenges, and they want to express them. “The Girls’ Movement Anthem carries a luminous message: that of girls who believe in their potential, who dare to dream higher, and who remind us that their voices are a collective force. This video echoes their energy, their courage, and their vision,” says Nadine Perrault, UNICEF Representative in Cameroon.
UNICEF calls on the media, families, young people, communities, schools, and society as a whole to embrace this video, share it, and make it resonate across Cameroon, helping to amplify this essential message: When girls speak out, change becomes possible.
