What is internet of good things
Currently, it’s typically used as a data-light website, optimized to also support low-end mobile devices and designed with low-literacy, first-time internet users in mind
While feature phones don’t come with access to an application store, they are most often equipped with a web browser capable of displaying basic HTML content.
Used to deliver evidence-based programs and other content, surveys, quizzes, polls, and comments, free of data charges, to the last digital mile
IoGT V2.0 has evolved IoGT so it can offer offline content access for smart device users and many new features to enhance engagement
The platform was originally developed by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation and transitioned to the Communication for Development (C4D) office in 2019.
IoGT supports UNICEF’s programmes in
- Engaging Communities
- Building Capacity at the Front Line
- Reaching Underserved Populations
- Designing Data-Driven Interventions
- Planning for Sustainability
- Supporting Local Partner Ownership

IoGT, how does it work?
Each Internet of Good Things site is independently managed by their UNICEF country office.
This means that, in our case, IoGT Cameroon will be managed by the UNICEF Cameroon country office.
IoGT helps fight misinformation by providing an accessible information portal.
Feedback and data are collected through quizzes, dialogue boxes and comments.
Where UNICEF uses IoGT?
Today IoGT thrives where mobile network coverage is available, data usage is low, and mobile phones (including feature phones) are commonly used
