Insights from formative research and surveys on the drivers, norms, and solutions to address CEFM in Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri.
Highlights
Highlights: Child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM) remains a significant challenge in the Indigenous and rural communities of Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri. This publication summarizes findings from mixed‑methods research involving surveys, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews with adolescent girls and boys, parents, community leaders, and government officials.
The study identifies interconnected drivers of early marriage, including economic hardship, entrenched gender norms, limited access to secondary education, restricted SRHR knowledge, and gaps in the enforcement of marriage laws. The report proposes practical, evidence‑based recommendations to strengthen prevention and expand adolescent girls’ choices.
