Building a Future through Vocational Training
Read the story of Fjoralba
At 17 years old, Fjoralba found herself outside education, employment, and training. As a young person growing up without parental care, she faced additional challenges in accessing opportunities and planning for her future. Like many young people in vulnerable situations, she needed guidance, support, and a pathway that would allow her to develop her skills and gain greater independence.
After learning about the Youth Guarantee, Fjoralba visited the Employment Office in Shkodra, where she received personalised counselling and support to identify opportunities that matched her interests and aspirations. Through discussions with counsellors, she discovered an interest in gastronomy and decided to pursue vocational training in this field.
Today, Fjoralba is attending a culinary training programme at the Professional Training Centre in Shkodra. Through the course, she is gaining practical skills, professional knowledge, and increased confidence in her ability to enter the labour market and build a career for herself.
"This training gives me the opportunity to learn new skills and feel more prepared for the future."
For Fjoralba, the programme has provided more than technical skills, it has offered direction, encouragement, and a renewed sense of possibility. Her experience demonstrates how personalised support and access to vocational training can help vulnerable young people reconnect with learning and move closer to employment and independent living.
Today, she is actively building the skills and confidence needed to pursue employment opportunities in the hospitality sector.
