Tirana, 20 November 2025-  In celebration of the International Day of the Rights of the Child, we are sending a powerful reminder that every child deserves to grow up in a family environment filled with love, safety, and understanding.

In Albania, transforming residential institutions into community-based care services is a national priority. This initiative aligns with the Strategy for Social Protection 2024–2030. It is supported by the EU4SocialCare Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNICEF Albania and World Vision Albania, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Today, the Municipality of Durrës is taking a significant step forward by establishing a Child and Family Support Hub on the premises of the former Residential Institution for Children without Parental Care. With Nisma's technical support, this transformation marks a significant advancement towards a modern, inclusive, and community-based support system. It ensures that children and families receive essential services before separation occurs. The new Hub will integrate a variety of services, including alternative care, family strengthening, psychosocial support, parenting skills training, and outreach activities. This initiative bridges institutional transformation with community empowerment, fostering resilience among families.

"World Children’s Day is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to children and to stand as strong allies and change-makers. By working together, we can elevate attention to children’s needs and strengthen connections with employees, customers, fans, and other stakeholders."  - emphasized Murat Sahin, UNICEF Representative in Albania

On this World Children’s Day, we also acknowledge the vital role of the private sector in supporting families. Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania, one of the country’s leading financial institutions and an active member of the UNICEF Business Advisory Board in Albania  is uniquely positioned to strengthen families through its workplace culture, financial services, and community engagement.

The message “For Every Child, a Caring Family” will be displayed on all ATMs nationwide, reinforcing our dedication to a future where every child is surrounded by love, stability, and opportunity.
